Robin Hoskins EdD, MA, MPC, LAC, NCC, HS-BCP
Over the past 30 years Dr Hoskins’ work has included various helping professional roles with diverse populations involved in the justice and child welfare systems. She has helped develop treatment court programs to meet their unique needs related to substance use and mental health disorders and evaluated programs for effectiveness. She has also been a member of the Arizona Association of Drug Court Professionals since 2009.
Dr Hoskins is an Arizona state licensed counselor with a two-year post graduate certification in art therapy. Her approaches in a therapeutic setting include Client Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She also integrates Feminist Theory in her work. Her contribution to services provided by this clinical practice includes expressive art groups as a supplement to primary therapeutic services. Expressing oneself in a nonverbal manner can open communication in ways the spoken word cannot. Providing a visual of an experience can feel safer than using words and can help connect meaning, awareness, and change via the unique experiences depicted through art.
